(Updated 11/17/99)
1. Sellers should label equipment with a brief
description and statement of condition, and should include their
call and name on the label (address if no call). The minimum
selling price (reserve), if any, must be clearly marked.
2. Each seller registers upon arrival, and will be given a pair
of tickets for each item. One ticket must be affixed to the item
to be sold, the other is retained by the seller, to be presented
at collection.
3. Putting small items in lots is encouraged, and, because of the
$1 per item minimum commission, is likely to generate more
proceeds for the owner. Please bag small items so that they don't
get lost or misplaced.
4. The auction has the right to reject what it considers
inappropriate items, e.g. broken TVs, non-electronic items.
5. Minimum bids are allowed (starting
with 1999 auction). The seller must clearly label the equipment
with the minimum acceptable sale price, also known as a
"reserve". Unlike past years, the seller cannot
join the bidding, as this violates state law.
6. The auctioneer may "bundle" groups of small or
low-value items from a seller to speed up the auction. Duplicate
items may be "Dutch Auctioned", i.e. the buyer will be
given the option of buying all of the items at the first-piece
price before the duplicates are offered to other bidders.
7. Items will be auctioned off approximately in the order checked
in, though we cannot promise to do this precisely. Please do not
ask the auctioneer to "squeak" your items in early, as
this is unfair to those who checked in ahead of you. Items not
sold at the end of the auction must be picked up by the owner.
8. Buyers must pay immediately after sale, in cash.
9. The auction deducts commission before paying the owner: 15% of
sale, $1 minimum, $30 maximum.
10. The decision of auctioneer is final.
11. Any complaints or problems should be brought to the attention
of the Auction Chairman or Assistance Auction Chairman for
resolution.
